Approximate time to complete the carpentry course: Intensive full time courses range from 6 to 8 weeks.

Qualifications achieved:
The training courses aim to train students to be fully-qualified carpenter however it is important to check with your courses provider that the qualifications are accredited. The most well known accredited courses are those with City and Guilds.

Intensive carpenter training courses will cover all the things you will need to enter the workplace with confidence that you can tackle any job that may come your way.

The training will usually consist of a six to eight week course, with training over 5 days per week Monday - Friday.

There are also course providers that do Part Time weekend courses spread over a longer time, you might want to consider this option if you are studying or working around your current job.

  • Starting around £14,000 - £18,000 per year

  • Up to £28,000 per year
    or more with experience

Hours Worked

  • up to 39 per week Monday to Friday

You may be required to work overtime at weekends and evenings in order to meet a construction deadline.

If you are self employed the more you work the more you can make.

Due to the nature of this job you will be working inside and outside the work can be physical demanding and you would need a good head for heights.
